I AM HERE

My goal was to eventually use this class to the best of my advantage and not look at assignments as a "to do" list. Now I have made some progress because I am able to say that I'm not miserable doing this ! Still not what I was going for but I have the rest of the year to make that change. The project we had to do on Fahrenheit 451 was not near what I was expecting it to be but I'm definitely happy with the way it came out.  Also, I do plan on messing with a senior or two.

IN MILDRED'S PARLOR

My poem: Sitting here, beats in, with the end of my pencil just under my chin.. I'm suppose to think of a poem to create but damn I have a headache. I know this what I'm not suppose to write but it's what I feel so it feels right..

So I'm a little confused with this assignment because I don't see how my poem can possibly relate to "dover beach" other then the fact that Montag reads it in a tone that he feels at the moment where in mine I'm writing what I feel.

SPRING POST 1: MUSIC AS LITERATURE

I think music is like literature in some ways, such as that it's always changing to what people would say is popular during that time but at the same time they're way different then eachother because in literature it's a story being told just about every time where in music it can or can't be. There is no true definiton of literature because it's always changing.

THE BIG QUESTION

Is there a real true answer to everything? If its not a proven fact then no, they're just opinions..but then again thats just my opinion! (Answering that question is a perfect example)

Presidential Debate 10/22/12

-Romney says what he's going to do about our nation's problems such as unemployment rates, but has very litte to support his ideas of reformation

-Romney explains that under his presidency we are going to begin to take advantages in other countries such as Latin America, but doesn't give any plans or idea on how to take advantage of them

-Both Romney and Obama get drug into one statistic

-Romney doesn't answer questions clearly

Self-reliance remix

I know this may seem way too short to summarize the whole "self-reliance" essay but I truely  believe you can sum up the whole entire essay in one sentence, "do what you want, what you believe, and what you think is the best for you." Emerson talks about being self reliant.. well you're not born independent. As you go on through life will you learn how to do more and more on your own. If you think about it, for the first stages of your life, you're not self-reliant, you're being trained by your parents so that you can become self-reliant! When that day comes, begin to use your own mind. Take what others have to say into consideration.. think about it, and come up with something original and on your own based on what others say. You're you and no one else, now make it seem like it. YOu have parts in your life when you're not meant to be independent. Its the cycle of someone raising you to be self-reliant then carrying that on through your life onto the next gerneration.

Midterm anwers

Well I wasn't here for the first week so I never knew the first week vocabulary words so I had to look up the definitons so I didn't have as much time to study them. Then when the midterm came the first thing I noticed was a lot of the words on part 1 were from week 1. But being some type of multiple choice helped me too. I think most of the words should stick with me and if they don't atleast they will come back to me quickly. I now know how to prepare myself even better for another midterm.

My walk and how it relates to romanticism

As I go back over and read what I wrote I can easily picture everything all over again. I remember exactly what I saw everytime I wrote something down. Being able to paint a picture in my head step by step, is romanticism on its own because it's like a story I'm reading to myself that I was already in wich make's even easier to see myself in it all over again.

A Dream Within a Dream

In Edgar Allan Poe's poem "A Dream Within a Dream" he uses a couple different tones. It starts out with some lines for the reader to think about, almost like a hook sentence in an essay. He uses strong words to paint an image in the audiences' mind. When he asks a question in stanza one it makes the audience kind of question what he's saying or talking about. In the second stanza he starts to change his tone with different puncuations. I think there are many different allusions in this poem that I just haven't noticed yet.
