What made him so bored of his everyday routine?
Why did he continue to slowly lose faith throughout the story?
If he had thoughts of it being his mother why was he so afraid?
He felt that he wanted to do something different for a change. As the story goes on it gets creepier and more suspenseful. He started seeing strange apparitions and hearing unusual voices. I think it's because he hadn't talked to her in a long time and was also afraid of what was going to happen.
