Vocabulary: Fall List #5


1. Allude - Suggest or call attention to indirectly; hint at.

2. Clairvoyant - The art of 'seeing' beyond the five senses. 

3. Conclusive -  Serving to prove a case; convincing.

4. Disreputable - Not to be considered respectable in character and appearance.

5. Endemic - Natural to or characteristic of a specific people or place; native; indigenous

6. Exemplary - Serving as a desirable model; representing the best of its kind.

7. Fathom - To penetrate to the meaning or nature of; comprehend.

8. Guile - Insidious cunning in attaining a goal; crafty or artful deception.

9. Integrity - Adherence to moral and ethical principles; soundness of moral character; honesty.

10. Itinerary - A planned route or journey.

11. Misconstrue - To mistake the meaning of; misinterpret. 

12. Obnoxious - Annoying or objectionable due to being a showoff or attracting undue attention to oneself.

13. Placate - To appease or pacify, especially by concessions or conciliatory gestures.

14. Placid - Not easily upset or excited.

15. Plagiarism - An act or instance of using exactly or closely imitating.

16. Potent - Having great power, influence, or effect.

17. Pretext - A reason given in justification of a course of action that is not the real reason.

18. Protrude - Extend beyond or above a surface.

19. Stark - Bare or blunt

20. Superficial - Concerned with or comprehending only what is apparent or obvious; shallow.
