Vocabulary Fall List #6


1. Adroit - Clever or skillful in using the hands or mind.

2. Amicable -   Having a spirit of friendliness

3. Averse - Having a strong dislike of or opposition to something.             
4. Belligerent - Hostile and aggressive.
5. Benevolent - Well meaning and kindly

6. Cursory - Hasty and therefore not thorough or detailed

7. Duplicity -  Deliberate deceptiveness in behavior or speech

8. Extol - To praise highly

9. Feasible - Possible to do easily or conveniently

10. Grimace - A facial expression usually of disgust, disapproval, or pain.

11. Holocaust - Destruction or slaughter on a mass scale,

12. Impervious - Not allowing something to pass through; not penetrable

13. Impetus - Stimulation or encouragement

14. Activity - Action in general; Physical exercise activity.

15. Jeopardy - Danger of loss, harm, or failure

16. Meticulous - Showing great attention to detail; very careful and precise.

17. Nostalgia - Sentimental longing for the past. Typically for a period or place with happy personal associations

18. Quintessence - The most perfect or typical example of a quality or class

19. Retrogress - Go back to an earlier state, typically a worse one.
20. Scrutinize - Examine or inspect closely and thoroughly.
21. Tepid - Only slightly warm; lukewarm
